5 Things To Do with Kids at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival

One of four Epcot’s annual festivals, Food and Wine Festival lets you taste your way around the world with an endless selection of global cuisine and beverages.

This year the festival runs from to , 2019.

I absolutely love the Food and Wine Festival, and I look forward to it every year. We usually make at least two trips to it every fall.

While it is considered to be geared towards the adults, there is still plenty to do for the younger park guests.

Here are our 5 favorite things to do at the Food and Wine Festival with kids:

Our fist, and obvious, choice is the food.

Sure, some of the food options could be too much for the kids’ palate, but most of the booths have at least one “kid-approved” item. Just look for a strawberry symbol in the Food and Wine Festival passport to help you find these items.

Also, this is a great opportunity to introduce cuisines from around the world to the kids.

Bunky is a very picky eater, but I am lucky that she is at least willing to try the new things. This year we have discovered that she like scallops!

As an added bonus, the kiddos can help you track the kiosks you have visited by affixing the stickers to the locations in the Festival passport. What child does not like stickers?

Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt

While sampling food is definitely my favorite activity during the Food and Wine Festival, Bunky loves Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak scavenger hunt.

To participate in this scavenger hunt you need to purchase the map ($6.99 plus tax). Your mission is to locate Remy hiding throughout the World Showcase. Once you find him, place the corresponding sticker on the map. Bring your completed map to Disney Traders or World Traveler and choose a surprise, compliments of Chef Remy!

This year’s prizes are tumblers featuring Remy, Figment, Chef Mickey, or Chef Minnie.

Emile’s Fromage Montage

New this year. Join Remy’s brother Emile on a stroll around Epcot to enjoy a variety of delicious cheeses served in inventive ways.

Get a stamp when you purchase any of the participating items (see the picture below). Once you have collected five stamps, bring the passport to Shimmering Sips kiosk for a complimentary cheesecake.

Tip: if any of the items don’t appeal to you, you don’t have to get them, you can two (or three, or more) of the same item, and still earn the special cheesecake. As long as you purchase 5 items in total.

We did try all of them. I wouldn’t get Impossible Cottage Pie or Black Pepper Boursin Souffle again, but the other three choices were very yummy. And so was the cheesecake!

Candy Sushi

Candy sushi class is a newer addition to the Food and Wine Festival. This fun activity debuted last year and is being offered this year as well. However, unlike the last year, it is not free. The cost is $10 per person, but, in our opinion, it is worth it.

During this half-an-hour family-friendly culinary workshop you will learn how to transform Skittles, gummies, fun strips and crisped rice into sushi rolls.

Candy sushi class is held daily at 3.30pm and 5.30pm at Sunshine Seasons. Reservations are not needed but highly recommended. You can make the reservations here.

Disney du Jour Dance Party

If the kids still have any energy left after eating around the world, they can live it up at Disney du Jour Dancy Party. It is held every day and is featuring live performances from Radio Disney artists on Fridays and Saturdays.

See the performances lineup here.

This year we got a chance to see Meg Donnelly (Addison from Disney Channel’s Zombies and Taylor from ABC’s American Housewife). Bunky was thrilled as she (just like most tween girls) is a big fan of Zombies.
