Home Disney Other Disney Parks & Resorts Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages Overview

Tokyo Disney Vacation Packages are official accommodation plans that include hotel stays, special park tickets, and all sort of other goodies! There’s a whole range of different packages to suit each season or what you want to do.

Somehow, I was not aware of the fact that Tokyo Disney is offering vacation packages until I stumbled upon them on TDR’s official website.

  1. Hotel accommodations. Either one of the Disney hotels or one of the Tokyo Disney Resort official hotels (Hilton Tokyo Bay, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay, Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay etc).
  2. Breakfast at the hotel.
  3. Special theme park ticket that allows you to visit both parks on day one.
  4. Disney Resort Line (monorail) pass for the duration of the package.
  5. Free drinks ticket and ticket holder.
  6. Fast Passes with no designated return time. The number of passes depends on the package. More on that below.
  7. Original goods voucher. The options include  canvas bag, water bottle, cushion and picnic sheet set, and it looks like they have added another option since our visit – a toy set.
  8. Other special experiences depending on the package (e.g. reserved show seating, character greetings, dining).

Tokyo Disney Vacation Package Options

Current options on English version of Tokyo Disney website are:

  1. “Lots of Attractions” Plan. 6 Fast Passes for 2-day package, 8 Fast Passes for 3-day package.
  2. “Standard” Plan. 3 Fast Passes for 2-day package, 5 Fast Passes for 3-day package.
  3. “Experience Attractions and Entertainment” Plan. 5 Fast Passes & 2 reserved viewing shows for 2-day package, 7 Fast Passes & 2 reserved viewing shows for 3-day package
  4. “Show Selection” plan. 2 Fast Passes & 2 reserved viewing shows for 2-day package, 3 Fast Passes & 3 reserved viewing shows for 3-day package.

If you are looking for more unique experiences, change the website language to Japanese (top right) and you will be presented with the larger variety of vacation packages. Some of the current packages include character greeting at Magellan’s and reserved viewing of Halloween shows.

I chose 3-day “Experience Attractions and Entertainment” plan with the stay at Hilton Tokyo Bay. We got one type A Fast Pass and six type D Fast Passes per person, and reserved seating for One Man’s Dream and Big Band Beat. The difference between type A and type D is that you can use type A on any ride that accepts Fast Passes. Type D excludes Toy Story Mania and Nemo & Friends SeaRider.

Where To Pick Up the Vacation Package Documents

The vacation package documents must be picked up at Tokyo Disney Resort Ticket Center. It is located on the first floor (1F) of Ikspiari, a shopping and dining complex similar to Disney Springs in Florida. The center is close to JR Maihama Station.

The vacation package confirmation email informs you to pick up the documents the day the package starts. I did not want to waste precious time in the morning going to Ikspiari before we could get into the parks, so we stopped by the center the night before. The manager let us pick up the package then, however, I read that some visitors were not allowed to pick up the package prior to the day it starts, so YMMV. We also were able to add a day to our 3-day ticket there.

Pros and Cons of Tokyo Disney Vacation Package

Pros

  1. For me, the main benefit of the package is a park ticket that allow you to “park hop” on day one in oppose to “regular” ticket that lets you visit both parks in one day starting on day 3 of the multi-day ticket.
  2. Fast Pass tickets with no designated return time.
  3. Free drinks coupon for the duration of the package. Drink options include coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, lemonade etc (hot or cold drinks served in cups).
  4. Reserved seating for some of the shows (depending on a package) – no need to play the lottery.
  5. Ability to make dining reservation online (and in English!).
  6. Ability to make hotel reservations 6 months in advance vs 5 months in advance if booking hotel only.

Cons

  1. Price. Our package  cost was about $500 more than purchasing hotel, breakfast, and tickets individually.
  2. The maximum length of a package is 3 days/2 nights, so if you want to have access to the perks for longer than 3 days, you will need to book separate packages.

Is the Vacation Package Worth It?

It depends.

If it is your once in a lifetime trip and you are travelling during busy months – then it is absolutely worth it! As it will let you skip lines to the most popular attractions and get the dining reservation you want.

For us, it wasn’t worth it:

  1. We traveled to Tokyo in the middle of April, and the weekdays at parks were not busy at all. Our plan was to use the regular Fast Pass system and stand by lines as much as we can, and then use the Fast Pass tickets that came with the package for anything we did not get to experience. On the last night we had 4 Fast Passes left that we were rushing to use as we already got to ride all rides we wanted.
  2. Since I have Hilton Gold status, thanks to my  American Express Ascend card, breakfast at the hotel was free any way.
  3. I wouldn’t get that upset if we didn’t get to see the shows. Don’t get me wrong, they are very entertaining shows, but, between numerous Broadway shows, Disney Cruse trips, and visits to Disney parks around the world,  I think we are spoiled when it comes to Disney entertainment. To be honest, I liked the Ariel show in the Mermaid Lagoon way more than both One Man’s Dream and Big Band Beat.
  4. Park hopping on day one is a great benefit, and we were happy to take advantage of it. However, there is plenty to do in each park, and we would have been able to spend the full day in one park if we hadn’t have the option to park hop.
