American Waterfront area of Tokyo DisneySea is Duffy (and the gang) lover’s paradise. Not only it is home to Aunt Peg’s Village Store filled to the brim with the adorable merchandise, but you can also catch a performance of My Friend Duffy show here.

Planning Your Visit

Cape Cod Cook Off Tokyo DisneySea

My Friend Duffy stage show runs continuously at Cape Cod Cook-Off restaurant. You must purchase food to watch the show.

Up until recently, you could have gotten a drink or a side item and be able to watch it. However, starting June 6, 2019, each guest 4 and up must purchase a set meal.

Once you get your food, you will be seated at a table and given a card that tells you by what time you must vacate the table. You get 45 minutes to watch the show, which is plenty of time to watch all of the show sets at least twice.

Unfortunately, you can not choose your table. We ended up seating in the last row on the right, pretty much all the way in the back. Next to a column. Not ideal, but we were still able to see the stage.
There are no reservations available for Cape Cod Cook-Off, and lines could get very long during the busy periods. If you are visiting during this time, your best bet to avoid long wait is in the morning when the restaurant opens or late in the evening.
We were in the park on a weekday in the middle of April. The line looked long, but it moved quickly. We got to the restaurant around 11 am and were seated by 11.20 am.

Menu

As you can see pictured above, the menu is very limited.

I am assuming it was decided to go for the most American food items they could think of, so it is mostly burgers, fried food, and french fries.

The restaurant also features seasonal desserts and burger creations. You can see the current menu here (use Google Chrome browser to translate it from Japanese).

Food

I didn’t particularly like the chicken sandwich as it was dark meat, so I wouldn’t order it again. The cheeseburger was very basic, but if I had to get again in order to watch the show, I’d do it.
I have not read a single positive Cape Cod Cook-Off food review, so I wasn’t expecting much, to begin with. You come here for the show and unique merchandise and not for the food.

We also ordered “Omelette” Cake & Happy Duffy dessert set. I am not sure what precisely the omelette cake was, but it was pretty good. Happy Duffy is a biscuit with caramel cream filling. We enjoyed them both.

Show

There are several short shows running with a few minute breaks in between them. The shows are featuring Duffy, Shellie Mae, Gelatoni, and, of course, Mickey and friends.
The shows are in Japanese, but they are very easy to follow. To be honest, I was just watching the adorable characters skip along the stage and sing songs without trying to figure out what they are singing about. To my surprise, Bunky understood exactly what was going on and was able to re-tell the story.

Final Thoughts

Even though this was not the best food we at Tokyo Disneyland Resort, we would come back to Cape Cod Cook-Off next time we are in Tokyo DisneySea (fingers crossed it will be in 2022 or earlier). It is a great way to take a break while watching the lovable characters perform in the show.
