Resort Overview

Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites is the newest resort on Universal’s property. It opened on December 15th, 2020.

Dockside Inn and its sister resort Surfside Inn are Universal’s value resorts with rates starting at only $88/night.

Stay in Endless Summer resort comes with the following benefits:

  • Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s Volcano Bay one hour before the park opens (valid theme park admission required).
  • Complimentary shuttle bus transportation to the theme parks and Universal CityWalk
  • Unlimited club-to-club access to select CityWalk venues for the length of your stay.
  • Resort-Wide charging privileges with your room key
  • Complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased throughout the Resort to hotel lobby

Surfside Inn and Dockside Inn are the furthest from Universal’s theme parks “on-site” resorts. Hence the low room rate. Buuut, once Universal opens its third theme park, Epic, Endless Summer will be the closest resort to this park. Epic is tentatively scheduled to open in summer of 2025.

Room

For us, the main draw of the Dockside Inn and Surfside Inn is the extra-affordable 2-bedroom suites. You can get them for a little over $100 off-season!

We were very excited to check out the suites, and they did not disappoint.

There are three queen beds in the suite: two in the main room, and one in the separate bedroom.

The bathroom area is split into separate bath and vanity areas.

The kitchenette features a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, and a picnic table. The mismatches seating around the table gives the room an extra charm.

A quick video tour of the room:

In addition to 2-bedroom suites, Dockside Inn also offers standard rooms with two queen beds. They sleep up to 4 adults.

Standard room design is very similar to the suites. Just no kitchenette and no separate bedroom, obviously.

Pool

As Dockside Inn is a value resort, the pool is quite basic, but it serves its purpose. There is also a splash pad for the kiddos.

Dining

Pier 8 Market, Dockside’s food court, is surprisingly very affordable with no item over $12.

It has several stations offering a variety of quick-service staples from salads to burgers and pizza. You will find something here to satisfy the pickiest eaters.

There are also two bars (Sunset Lounge and Oasis Beach Bar), and my favorite Universal resorts’ feature – Starbucks.

Plus, the hotel offers pizza delivery directly to your room.

Final Thoughts

As far as the value resorts concerned, Universal gets an A+ on this resort from us. A 2-bedroom suite with a kitchenette for a low price plus affordable dining is a huge win.

While we wouldn’t stay at Endless Summer resort on the “park” days as we prefer to stay closer to the parks, we would definitely consider staying at Dockside Inn or Surfside Inn on our “do nothing” days.
