Disneyland Paris: booking a discounted package, Hotel New York, and half board dining review
We chose to stay at Disney’s Hotel New York because it is the closest hotel to the parks besides the Disneyland hotel.
The hotel is just a few steps from the Downtown Disney and then it is a short walk from there to the parks.

Booking a Discounted Package
I got a great deal on UK’s Disneyland Paris website that included free half board dining and 20% hotel discount.
If you live in the US and search for Disneyland Paris website you will end up on the US version website. There are rarely any discounts available on that website. Instead, navigate to UK version where discounted packages are offered frequently:

At first, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to book the offer once I enter a credit card with the US address but it did go through. Then, I thought that maybe when we check into the hotel, I would be told that I am not eligible for the package since we reside in the US but that was not an issue, so definitely check out the deals available on the UK website.
Hotel New York
The hotel room was dated and the furniture was old and warn out, but this hotel is being re-imagined into Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, so this won’t be an issue in a year or two (it should be completed in 2020). There is no coffee maker in the room, but there is a tea cattle.
Half Board Dining Plan
The free half board meal plan that was included in the package is different from the plan that is available for purchase. Both of the plans include one table service/buffet meal per day, but with “free” plan the only breakfast available (with no additional charge) is Express Breakfast at Au Chalet de la Marionnette at the Disneyland park. With the regular plan you will have breakfast at the hotel. However, you can upgrade the Express Breakfast to the hotel buffet breakfast.
Breakfast at Au Chalet de la Marionnette
There are two choices for the Express Breakfast at Au Chalet de la Marionnette:
Savory
Choice of plain croissant or chocolate croissant
Bacon + egg sandwich
Minute Maid orange juice (can be substituted for water)
Choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate
Sweet
Choice of plain croissant or chocolate croissant
Bread with butter and jam
Minute Maid orange juice
Choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate
Both of us picked the savory option. While the bacon and egg sandwich was ok, the croissant was very stale and almost inedible. However, the main reason why wouldn’t recommend having breakfast at Au Chalet de la Marionnette is because it took over half an hour to receive our order. With only two options available, neither of which is complicated, one would think the staff would get the process down, but this was not the case.
Needless to say, the following day we chose to pay the additional fee of about 10 EUR per person and have breakfast at the Parkside Diner at the hotel. This restaurant offers standard breakfast buffet options: pastries, cereals, eggs, and a lot of Nutella.
Dinner at Agrabah Café
For dinner I made reservations at Agrabah Café and Bistrot Chez Rémy.
I read a lot of rave reviews about the Agrabah Café and it did not disappoint. Agrabah Café is a beautifully themed buffet style restaurant featuring Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. The food quality was great.
Unfortunately, Bunky, being the picky eater that she is, did not eat anything besides pita bread and a few desserts.
