Home Reviews Lounges TAP Premium Lounge at Lisbon Airport Review

We were flying TAP Air Portugal Lisbon – Milan in business class which granted us access to TAP Premium lounge. Since our travel companion was flying economy we spent most of our time before the flight at ANA lounge that all of us could use thanks to my Priority Pass membership.

However,  I love lounges and I couldn’t resist an opportunity to check out another lounge in Lisbon airport, so we popped in for a quick tour.

TAP Air Portugal is the flag carrier airline of Portugal, headquartered in Lisbon. It is a member of the Star Alliance airline group.

TAP offers lounge access to eligible passengers (more on this below), or you can purchase lounge access ($31+).

Location

TAP Air Portugal operates TAP Premium lounge at Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport, which is the airline’s main hub.

TAP Premium lounge is located in Terminal 1 (the Schengen area), above Praça Lisboa (Lisbon Square) on the 6th Floor.

You will see ANA lounge as you get off the escalator. Just follow the corridor on the left and you will reach the TAP lounge (there are plenty of signs pointing you in the right direction).

Access

TAP Premium lounge is open from 6 am to 11 pm.

You get free access to the lounge if:

  • you are flying Star Alliance business class
  • you hold TAP Miles & Go Silver, TAP Miles & Go Gold or Star Alliance Gold status
  • you are TAP Platinum Visa credit card holder

You can check what TAP lounges are available to you based on your status and fare type here.

Alternatively, if you are traveling with Discount, Basic, Classic or Plus tickets, you can purchase lounges access here. The cost ranges from $31 to $77, or you can use TAP Miles (5,000 to 11,880 miles).

Seating

The lounge is very modern. And green. I think it matches TAP business class design vibe.

There is bench seating on the left (near bar) and small tables/chairs on the right (near the buffet).

Most tables are two-seaters with just a few larger tables in the middle.

If you are lucky enough to snatch a table by the window, you can watch the runway while enjoying Portuguese food & drink offerings.

Food & Drinks

Most drinks in the lounge are self-serve:

  • Soda
  • Juice
  • Wine
  • Beer (the tap was out of service during our visit though)
Plus, there are several coffee machines that can make you anything from basic coffee to chocolate cappuccino.

There is also a full bar on the opposite side of the lounge.

In addition to lounge staples like pastries, fruit, and cold cuts, TAP Premium lounge was also serving more substantial choices such as:

  • Tuna salad
  • Chickpeas & zucchini salad
  • Ravioli with spinach & ricotta
  • Cod with cream (which I absolutely loved)

Also, this is the only lounge I’ve ever been to that had jars with baby food on the buffet table.

Final Thoughts

TAP Premium lounge is on the smaller side. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were hard to find a place to sit during busy times.
Self-serve drinks are very convenient, and the food was pretty good, especially compared to ANA lounge
